VIRGINIE FEVRIER MCAVOY
Museums and Art are my two passions, so I never hesitated about what to do as a grown-up!
I studied History of Art in Paris, attending both the Sorbonne and the École du Louvre. Being "passionately curious" about life and culture, I have also specialized in French and Italian History, International project management, languages (English, Italian, German, Swedish and Danish), teaching French as a Foreign language and a little bit of French cuisine - yes, I have a diploma for French crêpes!
My main achievements are getting accredited as a tour guide for the Louvre, the Musée d´Orsay and all the national museums in France and receiving my professional Card of Guide-Conférencier, the only one that allows you to work as an guide in France and, since 2014, Europe! My greatest pleasure is my profession: I love to transmit my knowledge and my enthusiasm for Paris and Venice and to meet people from all over the world who are inspired by the same interest.
Paris is my home town, where my roots run deep. But life and love have taken me far and wide, and after living for a long time in the beautiful Italian town of Asolo near Venice, I am now based in Malmö, Sweden, not far from Copenhagen.
The Paris region and Veneto are where my expertise lies. I would love to take you on a once-in-a-lifetime trip there!
These amazing regions offer incredible museums and stunning monuments, but let me also show you the hidden places, the cosy cafes where the pace slows down and where you don't feel like a tourist any more but the guest of a local friend.
Let me be that friend!!
I feel I am on a mission: to make sure you love your visit!
In a city you dont know, stress, queues, wrong choices can change your feeling about the place
and you go back home disappoined. That would be extremely sad!
So I focus on you and make sure you see the beauty and touch the soul of the city .
My background is in History of Art and History and those personal interests show through of course!
I can be as detailled as you want me to be, it is always me adapting to you, never the other way round!
Emotions, starting with joy and hapiness, are the key to a fantastic visit. That is a privilege of a small group to grab the opportunities, modulate the rythm of visits and sit in a nice cafe or restaurant in front of the iconic monuments of the city.
It will be you and your party, nobody else will join!
Up to 6 people, to keep the dialogue open and fluid!
You are a single, a couple, a family or on a business trip?
A warm welcome to all of you!!
No compulsory pre-decided tours here!
Places and length of visits are completely flexible.
And if you have a specific condition, just let me know
and I will make sure you feel comfortable everywhere.
Travel lovers are facing a difficult dilemma: how to travel and fly without impacting too much our so fragile planet?
In Sweden where I live, environmental issues are very strong!
To compense the footprint surplus, I promote quality over quantity, support slow food oriented restaurants, Green Key hotels
and cater to those who want specific ecofriendly tours in Paris and Venice!
I organize visits of the most important exhibitions and museums in Copenhagen, Malmo and Lund.
If you happen to be in the region, contact me!
